MARSH APPOINTS BERTIL OLSSON TO LEAD U.S. ENERGY PRACTICE
HOUSTON, September 9, 2008 — Marsh, the world's leading insurance broker and risk advisor, has announced that Bertil Olsson has joined the firm as energy leader of the U.S. Energy, Mining & Power Practice.
Mr. Olsson will oversee Marsh's energy hubs in the United States and will focus on driving growth in all energy-related arenas. Based in Houston, Mr. Olsson will report to Jim Pierce, chairman of Marsh's Global Energy Practice.
Mr. Olsson joins Marsh from Willis Global Energy where he was executive vice president and practice leader for its Houston Energy Practice. Prior to that he held a number of leadership positions at Willis including senior vice president and global client advocate for some of its largest oil and gas, chemical and utility accounts.
Mr. Olsson began his career with Marsh in the Stockholm office, where he worked on large package programs for integrated oil companies. He then moved to the firm's Houston office and continued working as a marketing specialist concentrating on package programs.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Olsson said: "At a time when energy companies are becoming increasingly worried about the scale of risks their businesses face, Marsh can play an important role in developing new solutions that address their concerns.

Mr. Olsson is a graduate of the Royal Swedish Naval Academy and the University of Lund, Sweden.
