In a recent interview with BestWeek, David L. Eslick, chairman and chief executive officer of Marsh & McLennan Agency, outlined the firm’s plan to become a major player in serving small to mid-sized businesses throughout the U.S.
By making a series of strategic acquisitions, Eslick plans to create the infrastructure on which to build Marsh & McLennan Agency as a national firm. Eslick is currently negotiating with a number of brokers around the United States.
"Our key leadership — around driving the strategy to win in the marketplace, around attracting clients and keeping clients and expanding the services we provide those clients – will be primarily driven from a regional basis," Eslick told BestWeek. "I'm ecstatic with the pipeline.… We have an ongoing dialogue with a very good number of very high-quality organizations."
Eslick told BestWeek that he expects to have a couple of the platforms established by the end of this year.
