 Following the launch of Marsh's Global Benchmarking Report "Next Generation Captives – Optimising Opportunities" in 2008, Marsh's Captive Solutions group is pleased to introduce the second Global Benchmarking Report: "Single Parent Captives – A Global Analysis."
Benchmarking, widely accepted as an important business tool, enables an organization to compare its performance and operations with its peers or other similar organizations.
Marsh's 2009 Captive Benchmarking Report builds on its previous year's efforts to provide new information on key points including captive domiciles, insurance lines and captive investments. Our report goes on further to uncover various aspects of captive usage varying by parent company location.
Our benchmark sample consists of over 900 captives. Where single parent captive information has been available as public record, this data was included in our sample enabling us to include over 100 captives that are not managed by Marsh. To ensure that the 2009 Captive Benchmarking Report focused entirely on single parent captives, we excluded captives not owned by a single identifiable parent company.
