Transportation: What We Offer
Driver Recognition

Many transportation companies fail to adequately recognize their drivers' efforts and accomplishments. This often contributes to driver dissatisfaction and, ultimately, high turnover. Driver recognition plays a major role in the retention of driver capacity.

Marsh helps transportation clients design driver recognition programs that are specific to an organization's operations. This involves evaluating a firm's current recognition practice, then offering guidance to enhance the program and make it more meaningful.

In developing an effective driver recognition program, Marsh's consultants work with companies to:

  • Determine the right safety awards to meet the safety objectives;
  • Provide training that will enable operations personnel to better motivate drivers to achieve the safety incentives; and
  • Develop an action plan to implement the recognition program.

A solid recognition program is more than an annual bonus or merchandise with the company logo. Drivers who are recognized for their efforts are often more tolerant of situations they may encounter in their role. For a recognition program to be effective it must have specific objectives and attainable goals. The end result will be improved performance and a better relationship between the company and its drivers.
