Risk Managing Workers Compensation and Non-Occupational Disability
A well known Southern California university recognized that their workers compensation losses were excessive. Service satisfaction was poor, staffing was unstable and they were inundated with paperwork.
Marsh was employed to assess the university's claim services and assist in the marketing for and selection of a quality Third Party Administrator (TPA). We discovered errors that resulted in financial recovery to our client, determined the cost drivers and assisted them in their strategy to change the third party claim administrator.
Marsh also set-up a litigation management program for the client enabling them to reduce legal expenses and improve the number of wins at trial. Using experts from our risk and human capital consulting practices, additional consulting was provided to integrate the disability management into the risk management operations, so that disability management consistently applied to all time-off -- regardless of the cause.
