Case Study: D&O Renewal Pressures Lead to Positive Results
A small private college's renewal date for its D&O program was fast approaching, and although their loss history was stellar, they received a renewal indication for a premium increase well over 100 percent. In addition, the carrier had added several coverage restrictions.
Marsh's team of higher education specialists reviewed the college's D&O coverage program, offered recommendations for coverage enhancements, preferred markets, and benchmarking of peer data for this line of coverage. Because of the timely response with education-specific data, the institution gave Marsh the Broker of Record for this line, as well as the general liability program. Marsh moved the school's program to a higher education market that offered a broad, educators legal liability (ELL) coverage form with a premium increase of 35% over expiring, and a specialized GL program that dovetailed with the ELL form.
